Delphine Diallo：书里，我觉得书对我的影响要远远大于一些好的艺术观点。我对神话故事、人类学、心理学方面特别感兴趣，我总是想为我的照片主体赋予永恒的意义。

photofans：你的个人画册 The Gift 中，有个人带着用钱币糊成的面具，说说这张照片吧，这样做的灵感来源于哪儿？

Delphine Diallo：这张照片叫做“世上没有灵魂的灵魂”，在 Joseph Cambell 的书 the Mask of God 中有这么一句话：

its mains result for me has been its confirmation of a though i have a long and faithfull entertained: of the unity of the race of man, not only in its biology but also in its spritual history, which has everywhere unfolded in the manner of a single symphony, with its themes announced, developped, amplified and tunred about, distorted, reasserted, and today, in a grand fortissimo of all sections sounding together, irresistibly advancing to some kind of mighty climax, out of which the next great movement will emerge.

我用我自己的方式解释了这个信念，与另一位艺术家 Sidi aka Leghead 合作做了这组作品，他在我脸上比划，用美刀制成面具，完成后带在了他的脸上。

我觉得我有必要阐述一下存在于自己面具下的恐惧，表达这种隐藏的东西。无论你是什么种族，有着何种文化和信仰。
